~ Lama Choedak Rinpoche announces the STOP Project

Sakya Losal Choe Dzong, The Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra (SLCD) is delighted to announce the Stupa Temple of Peace (STOP) project - an exciting new Buddhist place of worship, meditation and inspiration for all the people of Australia.

The construction of a temple is a rare occurrence and is said to bring special blessings to all connected with it. Your contribution and involvement is essential to the success of this project and we are seeking your support and generous donations to realise its successful completion.

The total budget to complete the project is $2,900,000. SLCD has $600,000 to begin the work including consulants' fees. We need to raise $2,300,000 to complete the work. We are fundraising for the full amount in donations and require the funds well ahead of expenditure to engage subcontractors and procure materials. From this the cost projection works out to an average expenditure of $165,000/month.

It is only through your generous support that this long held aspiration of our teachers and lineage masters will be realised.
